Clothes that need to be associated with modern life, not new Renaissance clothes - fashion archives, 1971

Droopy, lazy and romantic, Barway’s Renaissance model poses the opposite of the aggressive stance of the sculpted model of the 1960s. These melancholy girl, can be paired with male image of the poet, for prolapse, surrounded by long skirt, long sleeves, layered lace or drop on the floor of the fringe point to provide the appropriate atmosphere. Soft panne velvet, silky chenilles, and woollens are the most popular fabrics of the new Renaissance. They were late gowns, because it was not the day, nor the day of the 1970s.
No designer has successfully explained the soft and feminine feel of fashion in everyday clothes. All the most respected young London designers avoid this problem by producing just six clothes. What shall we wear from nine to six? -gina frattini, sina potter, Sandra rhodes, bill gibbons, Caroline Charles, ossie clark and Alice pollock are not satisfied. It’s one thing to imagine a delicious fantasy on expensive fabrics on a romantic night, but it’s much harder to produce clothes that are associated with modern day life. For most women, the important thing is that they should be able to buy young, fashionable clothes that will allow them to interact with the outside world during the day. But designers have been retreating to other eras, and have been at sea for centuries.

In my opinion, the focus on the past must begin with art academies. Student can enjoy has nothing to do with the boring bourgeois housewife world independent way of dressing, also do not enjoy nine to commute of six world, also don’t enjoy working with professional men’s career women in the world. Students can wear a Renaissance gown, a peasant outfit, a Victorian dress, or a traditional dress from a distant country during the day. The world is their oyster, and to them it tastes fresh. Only when they leave the university will they object to the fact that employers from nine to six are asking for a design to sell clothes.
Kingston institute of technology has done very well in the international fashion design competition. The head of Kingston fashion school is Mrs Daphne brooke, a young woman who works in the garment industry, and all part-time lecturers are professionals. The winning designs, the students that manufacturers snap up to design talent, are not those who read the past, but those who are creatively imagining the future.
I said, leave the posture books and museums to the stage designers and social historians. The time spent studying fashion history may be more valuable in modern tailoring, tailoring, and tailoring techniques. In the past 20 years, synthetic fibers, plastics, synthetic fur, and all of these new techniques, such as tensile and permanent pleating, anti-wrinkle, pollution prevention, drip dry, shower, fabric glue and stitching, welding, forming new method. So, it seems that this ridiculous thing has been going back to the time when these things were not invented. Of course, the past two decades have been critical to the study of contemporary fashion history, as the fashion trend has evolved logically and not suddenly.
